This event was established by the Cultural and Educational Association of Nea Karya as an expression of gratitude to the earth, which offers the region of Nestos the necessary supplies to nurture successive generations. The honoured figure is Panagia Agrotissa (Virgin Mary the Farmer), to whose icon, which is located in the church of Nea Karya, the farmers appeal each year in order for their harvests to be successful.
The Fair is held at the end of May and includes an exhibition of local products, traditional dances and local dishes.
