All seasons are suitable for a trip to Kavala.
The town is surrounded by a pine forest and its neighbourhoods are built amphitheatrically, so that they are beautiful from whichever side you look at them.
It is worth walking up the steep picturesque lanes of the Old Town, to find yourselves in the district of the Lighthouse. To ascend as far as the Fortress and then to go back down again to the Old Town from the east side, to enjoy the wonderful view and to find yourselves in the picturesque and imposing Kamares.
To see the old shipyard and harbour at Sfageia (the old slaughterhouses). It is worth walking barefoot over the fine sands of Kalamitsa beach and then, after the rock, to cross the sea from one edge to the other, as far as Arapitsa pine forest.
Even if you aren’t permanent residents of Kavala, the town hides many beauties that “challenge” you to find them!
