The town shipyards

Fine, then… You have walked through the lanes of the town and drank coffee. There is one point next to the town centre that you still haven’t seen yet.

The shipyard, or “kalafatia” as the locals call it, which will give you the moments of tranquillity you seek. In the small gulf behind the Kamares, the old aqueduct, the traditional colours of Panagia meet the industrial design of the tobacco warehouses.

Hidden, then, from the traffic on the streets, you can enjoy your food in the traditional little taverna of the same name, along with the stories that your mind will concoct about the voyages of the ships it once hosted. You might even feel like a child again, diving into the sea from the rocks to the right of the gulf.
