The chapel was built first in 1900, after which the cells were added, and since 1992 it has functioned as a male monastery. It neighbours onto the Holy Monasteries of Saint Demetrius and the Hyperagia Theotokos of Eikosifoinissa. The monastery celebrates on 29 August.

The monastery has over 30 Holy Relics of saints, such as St Spyridon, St Stefanos, St Panteleimonas, St Alexios, St Arsenios the Cappadocian and St Maximus.
