Holy Monastery of Panagia Pangaiotissa (Virgin Mary)
This women’s monastery was founded in 1979 and operates according to the Typikon (regulations) of the monasteries of Mount Athos. It is dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin and celebrates on 15 August.
Its location was chosen by a family of Pontians, after a divine vision that revealed to them the place where the holy icon was to be found, which they had brought with them from their unforgettable homeland.
