These villages act as communications nodes and suburbs of Kavala. They are located upon a mountain passage from Tenagi near Philippi to Kavala, in between Mounts Symvolo and Kastanies.

As you descend from Agios Silas to the neighbourhood of Stavros, you can visit a section of the ancient Via Egnatia, with a length of only 400 m, which looks out over the field of Philippi.

Distance from Kavala:
Stavros Amygdaleonas 7 km
Amygdaleonas 7.5 km

If you find yourselves in the region, you must have a picnic in Amygdaleonas forest, one of the 19 Aesthetic Forests of Greece.
