Holy Church of Saint Athanasius

This is the third oldest church in Kavala, after those of Timios Prodromos and the Dormition of the Virgin. It is built on the eastern edge of the town, in an area that is sloping and picturesque. It is a three-aisled basilica and was built between 1878-1888, with donations from the parishioners.
